Josep Lluís Galiana

Els músics valencians Josep Lluís Galiana i Gregorio Jiménez han publicat el seu últim disc, INSIDE, una selecció de noves creacions instantànies de gran exquisidesa sonora i inusual relleu estètic.

El saxofonista Josep Lluís Galiana i Gregorio Jiménez (live electronics and sound processing) son dos creadores sonoros de amplia y consolidada trayectoria en los campos de la experimentación y la improvisación. Dos artistas imprescindibles del actual panorama sonoro español que muestran en su CD, Inside, el trabajo que vienen realizando en el terreno de la improvisación libre electroacústica.

Editado y producido por Artics Produccions, Inside recoge una serie de ocho improvisaciones grabadas, mezcladas y masterizadas por Gregorio Jiménez en su estudio de Valencia a lo largo de 2008.

Sempre a la recerca de noves mixtures sonores, Galiana & Jiménez exploren des de fa alguns anys l’electrònica en temps real en combinació amb altres instruments acústics. amb gran naturalitat i autenticitat. Estèticament, les creacions sonores de Galiana & Jiménez beuen de moltes fonts, recollint diverses influències de la música contemporània: de l’electroacústica al jazz (Oxam, Speedblues o Wet dreams); del ruidisme a la música ètnica (Noisy o Tenetehára); del minimalisme a la free improvised music (Batecs, Díptic o Nature).

Fundadors d’altres grups de creació sonora de relleu internacional com ara D’ArS ensemble, Mediterranean Electroacoustic Quartet, Ensemble Impromptu, Sound Toollers Electroacoustic Music i SET.UP.SO., Galiana & Jiménez han participat en importants festivals internacionals com el Synthèse, de Bourges (Francia); Audio Art 2007 Festival de Krakow (Polònia); Punto de Encuentro de la Asociación de Música Electroacústica de España; Primavera Electroacústica en La Habana (Cuba); Ensems de Valencia (España); NWEAMO, de San Diego-Califòrnia (USA); Festival Internacional de Alicante (España), i el Cicle de Creació Electroacústica a la Universitat Jónica de Corfú (Grècia), entre d’altres.

Valencian musicians Josep Lluís Galiana and Gregorio Jiménez  have released their first record, INSIDE, a collection of new instantaneous creations with high sound quality and an usual aesthetic prominence.

Saxophonist Josep Lluís Galiana and Gregorio Jiménez (live electronics and sound processing) are two sound creators with a long and well-established career in the fields of experimentation and improvisation. Two vital artists from the current Spanish sound scene who present the work they have been doing in the area of electroacoustic free improvisation in their first CD, Inside.

Edited and produced by Artics Produccions, Inside includes a series of eight improvisations which have been recorded and mixmastered by Gregorio Jiménez in his studio in Valencia over the course of 2008.

Always on the lookout for new sound mixes, Galiana/Jiménez have spent years exploring electronics in real time in conjunction with other acoustic instruments. The result is music which is largely random, unique and daring, where improvisation and interaction with the listener play fundamental roles, and ideas flow naturally and with authenticity. In terms of aesthetics, Galiana/Jiménez sound creations drink from many sources, drawing from various influences in contemporary music: from electroacoustics to jazz (Oxam, Speedblues or Wet dreams); from noise music to ethnic music (Noisy or Tenetehára); and from minimalism to free improvised music (Batecs, Díptic or Nature).

As founders of other internationally renowned sound creation groups, such as the D’ArS ensemble, Mediterranean Electroacoustic Quartet, Ensemble Impromptu, Sound Toollers Electroacoustic Music i SET.UP.SO., Galiana/Jiménez have taken part in significant international festivals such as Synthèse de Bourges (France), Audio Art 2007 Krakow Festival (Poland), Meeting Point, organised by Spain’s Electroacoustic Music Association, Electroacoustic Spring in La Habana (Cuba), Valencia’s Ensems (Spain), San Diego’s NWEAMO (USA), Alicante’s International Festival (Spain) and the Electroacoustic Creation Series in the Corfu Ionian University (Greece), among others.
